A lot of times we are our own worst enemy. We doubt ourselves, and we play ourselves short. But life is full of possibilities. And while I do agree that some dreams are just that, a dream…what about those that are well within reach? Are you reaching for them? If not, don’t blame your current circumstance or even the people around you. Because life, is what you make of it, you get out of it what you put into it.
Therefore, learn to silence the hater within you; that unsolicited noise that clouds your judgement, creates fear, and encourages disbelief. Stop second guessing yourself, trust your gut and go with your intuition (that’s why we have it!).
We encounter enough haters in this world, don’t add yourself to the list!
My best me will learn to slow down and enjoy the ride.
The everyday hustle and bustle of life can keep you humping from the second you wake up, to the moment you climb back into bed at the end of the day.
Unfortunately, for most of us, the bulk of that time is often spent completing the mundane tasks that govern our lives.
How often do we really make the most of the 37,843,200 minutes we get?
Let’s Start today.
My best me will learn to put myself first because you can’t champion someone else’s life when yours is in shambles.
Remember, if the plane is going down, you have to secure your oxygen mask first before you can attempt to help others. This is because in order to help others, you have to be able to breathe (at the very least). Thus putting yourself first isn’t selfish, it’s smart.
I know we often dive head first into the various, daily crisis that our love one’s experience. It’s easy to do. Trust me, I know. But at the end of the day, there are only 24 hours in a day. How many of those hours do you spend doing someone else’s bidding? Be stingy with your time. Invest in yourself and most of all take care of yourself!
In the spirit of independence, I ask, who or what do you need emancipation from? Freedom isn’t an abstract notion, and it does come at a cost.
I release the strongholds of shame, guilt, and fear. I walk in righteousness,
free of condemnation.
Keeping in the theme of freedom, check out my poem, My Me (I think you’ll enjoy it – let me know). Below is a quick excerpt.
…So at two seconds from insanity,
when I am suspended in a silhouette of shadow,
I will visualize invisible shackles,
and hear freedom ring as the caged bird sings…
Okay, so I’m going to just call a spade a spade.
I dropped the ball this month – sorry (better late than never).
I am greater than the things that stand in the way; stronger than the forces that oppose me; and brighter than those that try to dim my light.
My best me will learn to live life without regrets.
Time is always moving forward regardless to personal circumstance, injustice, or desire. And while we don’t get the chance to go back and fix the mistakes we’ve made, we do have the choice to learn from them.
