7 Interesting Facts About Me:
- I am a stargazer. I have a telescope and I am fascinated by astrology and all things outer space.
- I have an extreme sweet tooth. I actually would prefer to eat dessert over dinner.
- My favorite color in the whole wide world is purple.
- I started my career in education at the age of 22, fresh out of undergrad. My first set of students were 11th and 12th graders.
- Me and my brother had two iguanas growing up. Their names were Iggy and Baby (this is what happens when your parents won’t let you get a dog).
- I recently began cooking for the first time in my life. I thought I would hate it but I don’t.
- I am obsessed with interior design. It is my happy place. I love putting a room together from the color scheme, to the furniture, to the accessories.

Silence Your Inner Hater
A lot of times we are our own worst enemy.  We doubt ourselves, and we play ourselves short. But life is full of possibilities. And while I do agree that some dreams are just that, a dream…what about those that are well within reach?  Are you reaching for them?  If not, don’t blame your current circumstance or even the people around you.  Because life, is what you make of it, you get out of it what you put into it.
Therefore, learn to silence the hater within you; that unsolicited noise that clouds your judgement, creates fear, and encourages disbelief.  Stop second guessing yourself, trust your gut and go with your intuition (that’s why we have it!).
We encounter enough haters in this world, don’t add yourself to the list!

Morning Musings 2.19.18
I’m not sure what is happening in our society right now, but it is exhausting that everything has become a point of racial tension, be it a reality show competition, sports game, movie debut, or even the words of the Commander and Chief. It’s dishardening to know that as we celebrate the 92nd Black History Month in this country, that our progress is often marginalized by ignorance.
How antiquated is it that we allow skin color to divide us? Let’s elevate and evolve – there is far more that unites us!
